Kightly set for operation

Kightly set for operation

How unlucky can you get? Michael Kightly is going to have an operation on his knee, which could keep him out of action for the rest of the season.

The 24-year-old hasn't featured since November 2009. Struggling with both an ankle and patella tendon injuries.

"We`ve decided to try something different to speed up my recovery. On a couple of occasions I`ve actually stepped up my rehab I`ve not quite made it, so I`m going to have the operation in Sweden.' Kights told the Express & Star.

Obviously it's never ideal to need an operation, but the lack of an indication of a return date is worrying.

Kightly added: "There are no timescale on my return but I`m feeling positive and hoping this will help me complete my recovery."

Vital Wolves Comment: We can only wish Kights the best and wish him luck for his recovery.

Yes,sad news but we must remain positive and hope that this will finally be the operation that allows Kights to play at the standard he needs for the premiership.
