This weekend in possibly his best Premier League performance ever, Jarvis added the name of Micah Richards to the likes of Tony Hibbert and Luke Young, who he has already got the better of down the left for Wolves this season.
Finally, England fans are starting to wake up to 24 year old, even if the England manager isn't.
Jarvis hails from an area that is fast becoming the breeding ground for left-sided midfielders; Middlesbrough, the birth place not only of the great Brian Clough but also England wingers Adam Johnson and Stewart Downing.
By the looks of it, Jarvis deserved to be mentioned alongside them, with the lurking suspicion that were he not playing for Wolves he might have already got a little more attention than he has.
What's more, the job of a winger is made very hard when you have only Kevin Doyle to pick out in the box often when you make a cross. Hence the usefulness of Jarvis being right-footed as he is but playing on the left hand side. Sometimes it's better to hold onto the ball and create angles, rather than to simply swing the ball in and hope for the best. Doyle may have an amazing set of lungs on him but he's not superman and when he's making a lot of running upfront on his own it's hard for the Irishman to always be in the right place for an early whipped in ball.
However, before we all get carried away with what was a brilliant performance against Man City, remember that Jarvis' cross to Milijas was his first assist all season. He's been impressive and he's doing the right things, scoring two goals this season of course, but still he could be helped more by Mick McCarthy.
Look at Chris Brunt for example, from rivals West Brom; he's probably been no better than Jarvis this season, but has six assists and West Brom are near the top of the table, while Wolves sit near the bottom.
The difference is that Roberto Di Matteo throws more men into the box and they have more attacking threats; six different scorers for Brunt's six assists, while Jarvis is left with a far more difficult job and less men to aim for when he comes to cross the ball.
If you've got a real talent like McCarthy certainly has in his young left-sided midfielder, it seems ridiculous not to make the most out of it.
Jarvis has proven he can beat his man with relative ease, now the manager needs to give him more targets to pick out with crosses into the penalty box and the goals could really start to flow.
