Only 38% happy with McCarthy?

Over the past three weeks we have been asking our users: How much time should be given to the coaching staff to get things right?

The questions was asked by Crete Wolf after the Wolves had only picked up three points from the previous seven matches and going into a run of games which included Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United (with Arsenal still to come).

The results have thrown up a bit of a surprise (well to me anyway as I completely back our Mick).

30% of users would like to see the back of Mick McCarthy now, while 12% would only give him till January, with a further 20% giving him the rest of the season.

While 38% are happy with how things are.

We will run this poll again in the future to see how things change with time.

Our new poll, suggested by SmithyWolves is:

Who should be starting at left back when everyone's fit?

You have five options to choose from:

Option 1 is : Stephen Ward

Option 2 is : George Elokobi

Option 3 is : Jelle Van Damme

Option 4 is : Matt Hill

Option 5 is : Other

what bloody rites has crete wolf got to say anything on our Mick, probably only watches on tv, I wish all these "fans" from afar would shut the **** up, Mick is the man and in my book should be on a long term contract- ie: life, I remember when we sacked Sir Stan and we ain't recovered yet from it, in the 50s there were 3 top teams, us, Man U and Arsenal were we was claimed has the "world club team" before anybody else, if we had stuck with Sir Stan we could have been up there with the other two but we will never know? Stick with our Mick and watch has we grow and go forward - who was it that said Rome wasn't built in a day! I know all the arguments - but unless you go to matches then you can't comment, I am 61 unemployed, married, but I get my money to go with the help of a great wife. We are Wolves..............those afar are not>

Points in reply: 1-It was a free and democratic vote on the performance of the whole coaching staff on our site poll by our members. 2-You have an opinion that you cannot support a team if you do not live it the area or attend matches,I am sure that several people just on this site would argue that point as being utter drivel and not worth even discussing. 3-I am in your age group so remember and WATCHED some of those great teams we had. 4-I have no interest in where you obtain the money from to attend matches and hope I never reach the point where I will!!!. 5-We are the Wolves!!! from all those fans from afar.

What a bloody cheek. In the late 1950s I watched every home match and the international friendlies too. I then started playing club rugby, though, by then, I'd paid my dues. Living in Surrey, perhaps I should support Fulham or Chelsea as they are a damn sight easier to get to. Now that I am semi-retired I hope to travel up to seem more matches but I do have other commitments. Ironically, I was up in the Wolverhampton area on Tuesday, attending a funeral of a friend of my mother's. I would have stayed up there, had I not had another funeral to go to today (as opposed to the one I hope does not take place at Molineux this evening). As I was drinking a pint of Banks's bitter in the Crown at Albrighton, I found myself thinking just how lucky the locals are. They can watch their team without the hassle of travelling long distances to get there, the cost of petrol and service station food en route or the hours getting there and back ... and, an even greater problem, of having to negotiate compensation with a non-sporty wife! And, they get to drink Banks's bitter at £2.20p a pint.

watching the games on telly gives you a much better idea of how the team is playing... i get toocaught up in the atmosphere and booze to be objective about our performance, win or loose... howevere when i watch at home Im usually tea total, have an unobstructed close up view all stages of play, get the advantage of action replays and a comfortable chair to sit in. I would go as far as to say, armchair fans get a better view of the game than anyone who's in the stadium. So, up yours johnwolf !

johnwolf football is a game of opinions, it's what makes it so great. You are at an advantage if you get to go to the game but to write off the opinions of those who don't is unfair, especially on a fan site where the point is to discuss differing points of view!
