No reward again for Wolves

Once again Wolves have put in a decent performance against one of the big boys, this time in the shape of Arsenal, but the performance brought no reward.

Marouane Chamakh bookended the game with a goal in the first and last minute to give Arsenal a 2-0 win, but that was far from the tail of the story during the other 88 minutes of the match.

'It was another case of playing well and getting nothing,' McCarthy told the Wolves Official Website.

He continued: 'I think we were the better side for periods and had a lot of attempts at goal and chances from corners.

'But we've not scored so it doesn't really matter.

Vital Wolves Comment: At least that run of fixtures is now over. If we can continue performances like last night and previously against the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal then we are sure to start picking up points over the coming weeks.

I think you played better for large chunks of the games but we had more clear cut chances. Both Fabregas & Arshavin probably should of scored

Another bitter pill to swallow. Hopefully it may prove a blessing in disguise and will force Mick to change the back line.
BIG TASTY
Well, I erroneously thought that the result of the MU game would have forced him to do so. Now, because of Fabregas, he might have to put someone else in.

its the concentration thing again. if karl henry made the same challenge on someone as fabregas made on ward he would have been of without a shadow of a doubt aswell. and i hope holloway gets blackpool fined 25,000 quid. i know there's the 25-man squad rule now but the rules still state that a full strength team must be fielded for every game
SmithyWolves
Errrrm, Henry's tackle on Arshavin Smithy?
Little Dutch
Dont be silly LD. That never happened, it wasnt match of the day.

well for your information Paul_ownz i did watch the whole game. so that puts your comment to bed!!! in my opinion it wasnt as bad, the studs were showing but he was a lot closer to the ball, and it wasnt at a critical point in the game! my point is simply that the bigger teams get away with a lot more.
SmithyWolves
I dont think you can say the Fabregas challenge was any worse than the Henry one. Define critical? We were 1-0 up and under pressure, had it been a red card we would of been most likely in control.
paul_ownz
we were pushing for an equaliser at that point.. and had he been sent off he wouldnt have set up chamakh for their 2nd goal!
