Doyle slams 'stupid' friendly schedule

Republic of Ireland and Wolves man Kevin Doyle has slammed this weeks international friendly schedule.

Doyle has gone away with Ireland who face Norway on Wednesday and Doyle has not been too impressed.

"I`ll be honest - it`s probably not 100 per cent ideal. We play Wednesday night and we`ve got an away game with Blackpool, who are massive competitors for us, on Saturday.' Doyle told Express & Star.

He added: "I don`t know why they changed the qualifiers to Tuesday nights - which was a great idea - but left the friendlies on Wednesdays.

"It`s a bit stupid.'

Not very stupid for us. With the majority of the squad injured and in desperate need for a few days rest, this is a welcome few days..
