McCarthy spells it out

McCarthy spells it out

Wolves are in a relegation battle.

Why that has to be spelt out to the players and to us the fans is a bit beyond me personally.

We spent the whole summer banging on about second season syndrome and that just staying up for a second season would be an achievement while everyone else had an eye on improving last seasons league finish.

"We are in a relegation fight and I`ve said that to the lads. They might as well understand that now than in a few weeks` time.' Wolves gaffer Mick McCarthy told the Express & Star.

He continued: "Let`s make no bones about it. The players have to embrace it, understand it, recognise it, and play with that.

"You can end up almost with a fear of saying it, not wanting to mention the 'R` word. I`ve said that`s rubbish because that`s what we`re fighting against.'

Vital Wolves Comment: So sitting 19th in the Premier League McCarthy tells it how it is.

Personally I didn't expect anything different, so I'm not as panic stricken as some appear to be.

I've also taken heart from our performances, because without that, we wouldn't have any hope of moving on and picking up the points.

We've also just completed a nightmare run of fixtures against the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City, the latter we beat so it's not quite doom and gloom time.

Bolton are well drilled and in form so we were never too likely to brush them aside.

Lets get behind the lads over the next few games and see where we end up over the Christmas period.

Bloody hell! Have the management team and players only just realised the fact. It's no wonder they have beeen behaving in a rather casual fashion in recent weeks: let in a goal in the first minute or at the end of the game, no problem, we are a mid-table team. It's proof positive that they don't listen to us!
