Hennessey told to stay put

Wayne Hennessey has once again been getting itchy feet and has pressed for a loan move away from Molineux.

The 23-year-old Wales International stopper has made more appearances for his country this season than he has for Wolves, with his only appearances coming in the Carling Cup.

In fact his last Premier League appearance was way back in November 2009.

"I guess it`s admirable that he wants to play but unless it suits me then it can`t happen, and at the moment, it doesn`t," said McCarthy to the Express & Star.

McCarthy added: "The status quo will remain for the near future because if anything happened to Marcus Hahnemann, I want Wayne here to play."

One issue might be that Carl Ikeme is currently out on loan with Leicester, if he was to return, then perhaps Wayne could take the chance to play some competitive football in the Championship?

Vital Wolves Comment: This was always to be expected and as Mick said, it is to be admired, the lad wants to play, he isn't happy just collecting his pay at the end of each month and he should be commended for that attitude.
