Capello criticism

Mick McCarthy has joined the ever growing queue of people who have criticised Fabio Capello's methods as England manager.

When you consider McCarthy had six years with Ireland as boss, our Mick is well qualified in this area!

McCarthy has criticised Capello, not for his team selection, not for playing Gerrard for too long which resulted in him picking up an injury, but for how Matt Jarvis was told he hadn't made the squad after being included in England`s provisional squad.

"There was lots of hype about Matt playing so you get warned you might be going, but you find out through the media that he isn`t going," said McCarthy to the Express & Star.

He continued: "There might be a different way of handling that — if you`re not going to be called up, a little phone call or text might not be out of order.

"A text saying 'sorry, you`re doing brilliant, keep going` — a pat on the head would do no harm.

Vital Wolves Comment: The way the Italian is currently progressing in his job I don't think this issue will be around for much longer..

He should have gone the day they landed back from the World Cup, if he even bothered flying back to England with the squad. They didn't want to pay him off, they allowed him to stay on based on another blabbering speech about change. After that World Cup performance and the FA decision to keep him I said I wouldn't watch the next 6 games. This was extended by 2 more games when he picked Carlton Cole in his squad and Bothroyd's inclusion resulted in a further 2 match extension and I don't miss it.
