Marcus Hahnemann Poll Results

The votes have been cast and more than half of Vital Wolves fans think Marcus Hahnemann will be leaving us in the summer.

Having recently lost his place after a shaky run, only 24% think he will win his place back. 11% think he will remain stuck to the bench, 8% think he will go in January.

In my opinion the chances of him leaving in January are zero. When Wayne suggested he may have to go out on loan to get some football, Mick quickly quashed that idea pointing out that no such event was worth contemplating whilst Ikeme is out of loan.

Hennessey was quickly given a chance and whilst he played well against Sunderland last week we saw a familiar lack of confidence in terms of commanding his box and I think Hahnemann will be back in goal come the start of the New Year if not sooner.

Whoever plays can expect a busy Christmas.

I agree with you and hope you are right NYC. Wayne isnt ready for the big stage yet.

Agreed Ad. If he'd have been able to maintain the form he showed when he first broke into the team, he would by now be looking dreamily into the future thinking he could be the most capped Welsh goalkeeper. He had made that shirt his own but over the years we have seen the all to familiar lack of confidence, especially when we are talking about crosses and commanding his area. Despite his recent mistakes, the defenders always looked much more comfortable with Hahnemann behind them- they have looked sheepish sending the ball backwards over the past couple of games which have proven evident in their subsequent errors. The more I think about it the more I end up hoping that Wayne has a stinker in training and Hahnemann gets the nod. At the start of the season I said Hahnemann was first choice with Ikeme second- I think Wayne is a tremendous shot stopper and has his moments of showing authority but I think an extended period in the Championship could really help bring that confidence he has always seemed to lack.
