West Brom and Wolves showdown for the first time at the Hawthorns for three years at noon on Sunday.
That game ended goalless, with the bragging rights being taken at Molineux, when the Baggies claimed the three points and at the time, top spot in the Championship thanks to Zoltan Gera back in April 2008.
It's been a long wait to seek revenge and thankfully in these types of games the form book gets thrown out the window.
So the fact that we have the worst away record in the Premier League this season, losing our last seven games is completely irrelevant when looking at this one fixture!
"Players might only have a short time at the club but if they score against their local rivals or score the winner, they will always remember it.' McCarthy told the Express & Star before going on to add: "It`s one game, but one game that`s vitally important to this area.
In recent times the Baggies have tended to edge these encounters with West Brom claiming 4 wins, Wolves 2 with 2 matches drawn since the turn of the century.
(Throw in Championship Play-Offs and FA Cup matches and record gets even worse for Wolves!)
Overall since the FA Cup encounter in January 1886, Wolves and West Brom have met 156 times.
Wolves have taken 52 wins, West Brom 62 wins with 42 draws.
Three points for Mick McCarthy's men would probably be enough to see us climb out of the relegation places, but this weekend the Premier League is forgotten.
Vital Wolves Comment: Bookies odds on who will be a hero (first goal scorer): Kevin Doyle 7/1, Sylvain Ebanks-Blake 17/2, Steven Fletcher 9/1, Stephen Hunt and Matthew Jarvis 12/1, Nenad Milijas 14/1 all odds with bet365.
