Wolves sign Hammill from Barnsley
It's official, 22-year-old Barnsley winger Adam Hammill has joined Wolves for an undisclosed fee.
Previous reports had suggested the fee would be around £500,000 as it was thought he had a get-out-clause in his contract stated that if a bid matched that figgure he was automatically allowed to discuss personal terms.
Obviously with the fee undisclosed we won't know if that was true or not.
We also won't know if the rumours linking Blackpool to Hammill were true either.
What we do know, is that Hammill has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract at Molineux and the new recruit sounds delighted.
'Wolves are a massive club and I'm pleased to be getting the chance to try and play Premier League football,' he told Wolves Official Website.
'I think my ambitions go hand in hand with the club's.' (I hope those ambitions are to avoid the drop this season!)

Crete Wolf: my initial comment was a response to Akela's invitation tell him what we thought about the article. I was implying that I had already given opinion on the signing. And, in a couple of minutes, if you look at my report again, you will see that I have made another comment there.

It looks like all the excitement of my take on the Hammill signing has pre-empted discussion of the lad himself. I have now read one report that says he is an inner midfielder and another that claims he is an out-and-out wingman. So, it's obvious he is going to be our left back. After all, wing-backs have to tackle and attack down the flanks, as old-fashioned wingers did in my youth, in the days of Jimmy Mullen and Johnny Hancocks. He's not replacing Jarvis, he is going to be is left side mate. If you had written an article to that effect, Crete Wolf, you could have saved us a lot of grief.
