McCarthy on Cup tie

McCarthy on Cup tie

Attention turns to the FA Cup this weekend as the pressure cooker of the Premier League is put onto simmer for the Worlds oldest cup competition.

It's a distraction we could probably do without, but the Cups the cup and I'm pleased to hear that McCarthy will be putting out a team capable of progressing past Stoke.

"It`s a game we want to win and we`ll play a strong team," Our Mick told the Express & Star. "Providing there`s no trouble with them, I`ll have Dave Edwards, Jody Craddock, Steven Mouyokolo and George Elokobi." he added.

The quartet mentioned by Mick came through a reserves match during the week along with Sam Vokes and all five could make an appearance on Sunday.

New signings Adam Hammill and Leigh Griffiths however will not feature, Hammill is cup-tied after featuring for Barnsley against West Ham in the last round and Griffiths is suspended (I assume for a sending off he received for Dundee against Motherwell in the Scottish FA Cup, but confess I haven't read too deeply into it to know for certain).
