Zubar sorry

When Ronald Zubar didn't look up and decided to play THAT pass, time probably slowed for all of us as we watched Bolton slip in and snatch all three points.

For Zubar time probably stood still as he wanted the ground to just eat him up as Daniel Sturridge scored probably the easiest goal of his career to date.

"I apologised to my team-mates last night and they accepted my apology, but I also want to say sorry to the fans because they came in their numbers and paid a lot of money to see us," said Zubar to the Express & Star.

At least when someone makes a catastrophic error like that you don't often repeat it. Something Mick will be thankful for!

"What do I do? I go and shake his hand and tell him to get his chin up and carry on playing. That`s hard for all of us but that`s what we have to do.

"He didn`t mean to make a mistake, but a mistake it was and we continue to make them. And if we keep doing it we`ll keep getting punished." McCarthy told the E&S.

Vital Wolves Comment: So what does Mick do? Shout at him? Put an arm around him? Drop him? Put faith in him?

Drop to the reserves for a few games - he's performances have been shambolic of late. This wasnt an isolated gaff, he'd practiced it in the first half, and we dire against Liverpool the week before ... Hurry back Foles is all I say.

You can certainly rely on the steady Foley to make fewer gaffes than the mercurial Zubar. But, if it is s*** or bust time, we need someone with an edge, that is, a player who can change the course of the game. Zubar is that person, though, as Wednesday proved, it can work against us! Think of his performances against WHU away last season and against Chelsea at home a month ago.
