Doyle to miss rest of the season?

Wolves could be going into the crucial end of season run in without striker Kevin Doyle.

Fighting a relegation battle in the Premier League isn't an easy task, when you lose a player of Kevin Doyle's quality to injury makes it even harder.

When that injury takes place while he is on international duty that makes it even more frustrating.

'It's his medial knee ligament. I think he may be out for one or two months, so it's a very serious injury,' Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni told the BBC.

The 27-year-old had set up Aiden McGeady's goal for Republic of Ireland which also saw Kevin Foley feature.

Republic of Ireland went on to win 2-1 against Macedonia in their Euro 2012 qualifier in Dublin's Aviva Stadium.

Foley will remain with the Irish squad for Tuesday's friendly with Uruguay, however Doyle has now returned to Wolves to be assessed treated by our medical staff.
