Megson at Molineux?

Former West Brom boss Gary Megson has expressed his interest in the current Wolves managers vacancy.

Just the mention of Megson's name , the man who took The Baggies up not once, but twice is bound to cause divisions amongst the Molineux faithful.

Espescially as one of those promotions was at the expense of Wolves 4 years ago.

But would his appointment be all that bad?

Would it be any worse than Mick 'ticks all the boxes' McCarthy? Or any other number of names thrown in the pot?

It wasn't that long ago that his achievments were being admired. albeit grudgingly, and he has in the past shown the ability to take teams without Wolves former spending power into promotion races.

His appointment would certainly raise eyebrows, and maybe expectation of what the current squad could achieve next year, although Jez Moxey is going to great lengths not to build up anyones hopes of a hugely succesful campaign this term

Given the bullish attitude that has previously been in place pre season amongst Wolves fans, that frequently came back to haunt them, this may not be such a bad thing.

'We're deliberately dampening down expectations, because we want to build a spirit and confidence within the team and then who knows what could happen.' he is on record as saying.

Who knows indeed.

Maybe Gary Megson does.

Didn't exactly do well at Forest did he?! Surely you should be looking at people with more experience of managing in the Premiership to get you back up there and keep you up

Maybe Doug, but there are not an abbundance of successful ex Premier League managers waiting to put their nuts in a vice with nothing but hard work with a now reletively in experienced squad to make an impact. Had one called Glenn Hoddle who ran away for the easy life.

Nah dont want him, rather have Paul Ince as a player manager knowing nothing and learning as he goes than up again, down again Megson.

No thanks leave him on the scrap heap
