Sat in the relegation places with three games to go, is not where we envisioned ourselves at the start of this season.
Many had hoped to build on our finish to the last campaign and improve on our last seasons position, for those this season no matter how it concludes will be a disappointment.
Many others just hoped to avoid relegation and those supporters could yet have those hopes realised.
But if it is to happen, we're going to do it the hard way.
Asked if either Sylvan Ebanks-Blake or Kevin Doyle would be fit to face Albion this Sunday, McCarthy said to the Express & Star: "I doubt it, I don`t think either of them will be fit for Sunday.'
Without them Mick will remain reliant on Steven Fletcher and Stephen Ward.
He continued: "If one of them (Sylvan Ebanks-Blake or Kevin Doyle) improves sufficiently, then that would be fantastic. But it`s not something I`m planning on - I`m hoping, not planning.
Both players have returned to light training and could both be ready for a return before the seasons over.
"Sylvan was out doing the same drills, as Doyle was, so we`re hopeful and we`ve got our fingers crossed." our Mick concluded.
Vital Wolves Comment: If we are indeed without Sylvan Ebanks-Blake or Kevin Doyle for Albion what would you do in the managerial hotseat?
