Crowd-safety plea issued ahead of derby

Wolves and Albion have issued a joint crowd-safety plea ahead of Sunday's Black Country derby.

Alongside the usual requests of getting to Molineux early to avoid congestion ahead of kick off (Sunday, 12pm), there will also be rigorous search procedures in place at the turnstiles, so expect queues on your way into the ground.

Anyone found with dangerous items will be arrested.

The clubs have chosen to issue a joint statement following a few incidents between supporters at recent games.

'In recent Black Country derbies, there has been the unusual sight of the odd flare and discharged smoke canisters marring the games. These dangerous items put supporters of both sides and stewards, and other staff, working at the games at risk.' a statement on Wolves Official Website read.

It went on to add: 'At The Hawthorns, two supporters were also arrested for coin throwing, one of which has pleaded guilty and received a three-year ban from attending football matches. The message is clear: throwing anything whether it be a flare, coin or anything else which could cause harm, will be treated very seriously and CCTV footage will be used, both at the game and retrospectively, to identify any culprits.'

The Club Hotline Number for fans to anonymously provide information relating to any acts of crowd disorder is 01902 687093.
