'If It's Football, It's Vital'

I didn't axe anyone claims Mick

In a rather strange twist, Mick McCarthy seems to have come under-fire for changing his team last week from some sections of the media.

It all seems rather bizarre, McCarthy left out Christophe Berra, Richard Stearman and Matt Jarvis from the starting line-up against West Brom last week.

Wolves went on to win the game 3-1 and yet Mick's been accused of dropping players who he has regularly picked all season.

'Because I am loyal to players and stay with them through difficult times and difficult performances why is it then said that I've dropped them when they don't feature?' our Mick told Wolves Official Website.

He continued: 'With others it's called squad rotation where players are left out because they are a little bit tired and need a rest.

'Because I am very loyal to players it seems when I do it it's taken as an exception.

'I'd be upset if they weren't annoyed at being out of the team but everybody's time will come again.

Vital Wolves Comment: It would seem to some that McCarthy can't do right for doing wrong, he's treaded water for far too long for some to cope.

Last season some wanted him out and he turned it around, this season again some wanted him out and he's on the verge of turning it around once more.

We are now to the point that his selections are questioned even when we win and some ask whether it's down to how poorly the opposition is rather than us getting the job done!

Will he get any credit if we do stay up? Or will some see it that we've stayed up despite McCarthy?

To be honest, as long as we do stay up, I won't care and a win at Sunderland tomorrow should be enough to get the party started.
