Wolves set to sign O`Hara and Johnson

Wolves are expected to complete the signings of on-loan Tottenham midfielder Jamie O`Hara and Birmingham defender Roger Johnson over the next seven days.

O'Hara has enjoyed a successful loan spell at Molineux and a fee between Wolves and Spurs has already been negotiated, but a deal has to be concluded over the next week.

O'Hara is reportedly keen to make the switch permanent and he has praised manager Mick McCarthy and the club for avoiding the drop this season.

'This is a proper football club and it's been a real honour to play for this club,'

'It's run fantastically well, the chairman is brilliant and the gaffer is absolutely amazing.' O'Hara told Wolves Official Website.

He continued: '(McCarthy is) a proper football manager and that's why he's got the lads playing for him and that's why this club is going to keep pushing on with someone like that in charge.'

Reports suggest that Mick McCarthy would also like to sign two centre-halves over the close season and our Mick has targeted Birmingham central defender Roger Johnson as his first pick.

Makes sense. Are we going for Dann too? But as, if I recall, he was negotiating with Birmingham while undergoing a medical at WW, MM might not think he is our sort of player. I would favour the deal as central defenders have to work in tandem and we would benefit from the acquisition of an established pairing.

3 days after the seasons finished and made up reports are festering haha , You really think MM is going to spill anything so close after the last game , Hes probably in the sun chilling out , O hara we all want with a full pre season under him , Class act , Spurs fans think its a pinch at 5 mill , Johnson would be a great buy if hes not too costly , Personally id like Bougherra from Rangers !

We appear to be addressing the correct areas... which is encouraging. Mancienne needs to return to Chelsea and free up some more funds for these defensive acquisitions.

Of course we're addressing the correct areas! McCarthy hasn't got us this far without knowing what areas he needs to improve, he just needs the backing to do it.

I wish everyone would lay off Mancienne , He had a bad injury , Berra was tired after palying so many games so Mancienne came in and when we beat Albion and Sunderland he did a good job , 1 bad half against Balckburn and you all turn against him , If we are basing it on th first half against Blackburn we should sell the lot of them !!! , Hes still young and personally id play him left back ! you need pace and with him and Zubar as full backs the pace is there to get themselves out of trouble where Foley and George ( as much as i love the bloke lol ) have trouble time and time again !!!

Will be sad to see O'Hara leave, could still be a great squad player for us, but at 24 he really needs to be playing football. The last two years he's shown what he can do when given a run of games but...£5m? Sounds awfully cheap to me, Steve Morgan must have caught Daniel Levy on an off day. Best of luck with him
