'If It's Football, It's Vital'

We will strengthen the squad says Jez

With the transfer of Jamie O`Hara set to be completed over the next few days, Wolves will not end our transfer dealings there.

As discussed in grave detailed on the pages of Vital Wolves over the past few months, the current side has many weaknesses.

If we are to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle this time next year then those areas are going to need to be addressed and thankfully it appears they will be.

"It was always in our plans if we stayed in the league to try and strengthen the squad," Jez told the Birmingham Mail.

He continued: "We do have some targets in mind but we`ll only really talk about them once we`ve done it.

"We have talked about things but I think everyone will just take a few days` break before getting down to business and, as always, trying to get it done as early as we can to be ready for pre-season and have a squad capable of keeping us up for a fourth successive season."

Vital Wolves Comment: Our current poll suggests that our main target should be a new Centre half, in fact 78% of users believe this should be our main focus.

All the Wolves stories are much of a muchness at the moment... One can only hope there is serious endeavour by Mick and the board to bring in 2-3 quality defensive players - as i feel we have enough going fwd. Time will tell.

What exactly do you expect the season only ended a few days ago.

I see that the 'Sunderland want Doyle' story continues to circulate, even if for now it remains a pipe dream in Steve Bruce's head. Nonetheless, the reports insinuate that WW might be willing to sell him, if the price were right. For me, it would have to be an astronomical sum. But, as is also hinted, the board might be forced to release him in order to pay for desperately needed defenders. I hope not but I worry that unpalatable decisions might have to be made in order to raise the cash. So, if we had to sell someone to raise a lot of money, whom would you select? In such a scenario Doyle would prop up my list ... but (and you can guess the name on my mind) we do have less painful, team-gutting alternatives.

This isfrom a Sprsn who admires Wolves; I am happy that you guys have stayed up - one of the highlights of the season for me was the trip to Molineux with my Dad. With a bit of strengthening, I think you guys will build on your 17th placed finish. All the best, Hi Ho Wolverhampton!

When I see some douche writting "8 million rated Doyle has attracted attention of.... blah blah blah", my blood begins to boil ! Anything below 20 is a bargain for Kevin. Doyle has to stay at Wolves ! My favorite player. Steve Bruce can F-O

Thank god for the Scoursers splashing 35 mil on Carroll , It means us lesser clubs can bang on the extra few mil than the players are actually worth :-)
