Cort Sees Specialist

Carl Cort has seen a specialist in a routine follow up to last seasons operation that kept him out of action for a large chunk of the year.

Although only a precautionary check-up, it should still keep Carl out of Saturdays friendly with Swansea City.

'Carl has got a follow-up appointment with the specialist regarding his knee so I don't think he'll be available for us on Saturday. It was always planned as a follow-up appointment from the problem he had last year.' said Caretaker boss Stuart Gray.
Unfortunately for Carl, it comes at a time when Gray believes Carl is hitting the kind of form that tempted Newcastle United to pay a £7 million transfer fee, but it also leaves the door open for for others to make their mark.

'At the end of the day Bobby Robson paid a big big transfer fee for Carl Cort and you could see in patches against Tranmere why he did so.

'That's probably the best Carl has played and looked pre-season but unfortunately we've now got to rest him for Saturday although it does give us the option of having another look at Leon.' Gray explained
