So with Doyle finding flying form before his injury, and Fletcher scoring 5 in 5 in the dying embers of last season, would Long be a step too far for Wolves?
Ebanks-Blake has managed 7 goals this season, but hasn't gotten near the starting team other then his brief stint with Fletcher.
Keogh coming back from Cardiff and Bristol loans, is he really good enough for the Premier League?
He has managed to pick up 26 caps for Ireland, but every time he had a poor performance, 9 times out of 10 missing an absolute sitter.
Finally Vokes, has he even scored for us?
So that leaves the question of Long open.
He's managed over 20 goals this season in the championship.
He is as close to Kevin Doyle as you can get.
He's fantastic in the air, the only difference is when Doyle would hold it up,
Long can get between defenders and get in a one in one situation.
I'm not suggesting we sell Doyle, or Fletch but would he not be a good buy as an impact sub, or even rotation when needed when fatigue sets in over Christmas and the end of season, or to cover for injuries, leaving Wolves with a great chance to get a 4-4-2 system up and running!
