Wolves CEO Jez Moxey has cited Mick McCarthy's track record, attitude and ability to hit the ground running as the deciding factors in his appointment.
Speaking to the clubs official site he said :
'We felt ultimately that Mick McCarthy, with his experience, would be able to hit the ground running. He is a very straight, principled person and with the track record that he has, he ticked most of the boxes.
'We are delighted that he is coming in, and we feel it is an outstanding choice given the circumstances we found ourselves in less than three weeks ago.'
Indeed, Wolves fans are in a decidedly more positive mood now, than 21 days ago.
A new manager, with new backroom staff and positive moves made in the transfer market to bolster the threadbare squad have encouraged fans that as their motto says
