Odds Stacked Against McCarthy
The ink has barely dried on Mick McCarthy's one year rolling contract, but William Hill believe that Wolves and McCarthy are match made in hell.
Despite the club being 5-1 for promotion, McCarthy is listed at 11/4 to get the sack before the end of the season.
Certainly not a vote of confidence from the bookies, at a little over 2-1, although odds of 1/4 for him to last the course tend to imply the smart money is on Mick having staying power.
Which will all depend on how well, or how badly Wolves start their season.
Statistically a change, any change of manage should see a short term upturn in fortunes for most clubs.
Failure to turn that into hard working. consistent performances will see a shift in public opinion and place pressure on the Wolves board to act.
