Premier League fixtures released

It is fixture day for the Premier League again.

As usual thanks to the short-sightedness of the Premier League our FA and their legal eagles at Dataco, we can`t show them without the threat of legal action or chains and whips and while that might excite the likes of Rihanna, I neither like the smell of it or the idea of it (can you tell I'm filling here?)

Our opening day game will be away to Blackburn Rovers, final day is away at Wigan.

Visit Wolves Official Website for all of the 2011/12 Premier League fixtures, which are all subject to change due to Sky Sports, ESPN, UEFA, changes in direction of the wind etc.

Our opening 3 games could easily be 9 points 3 points or no points so reasonably happy , what i dont like is the fact Norwich do not have to play a top 6 side back to back all season , Swansea only have too on the last 2 games of the season against Pool n Utd , QPR have got a tough fixture list , but i know Wolves and West Brom have had to play the top sides back to back on numerous occasions , Norwich and the Swans have got off very lightly fixture wise , and before you all say you have to play them sometimes thats rubbish , if you play 3 top sides back to back and lose all 3 your confidence etc is shot and for lesser clubs its very hard to snap out of a losing streak , so the fact Norwich and Swans have a hard game followed by a winnable one every bloody week has narked me !

A good point, Oddjob, but we did more or less survive the month from Hell last season ... though inflicting on ourselves another- unforeseen- one.

Good point Oddy. A lot of Albion fans (on yes the Express & Star site so it could be children given biscuits to write pretend responses) are appearing either particularly paranoid; shooting theory that Alex Ferguson picks the fixtures (?????) to grumbling. My general angle was, well, you've got to play them sometime indeed but three back to back of course could leave a team struggling. I guess if you are up with the big boys then you learn to live with such patterns or you should not be there in the first place. Our first game, well- this is hard to describe but when the cup draw approaches and cannot help but feel for years Wolves have more often than not ended up playing someone from the same division- bit of an ugly club- tie we should win but won't- hope that makes sense. Not predicting a loss on the opening day just yet but I would rather be hosting Manchester United, get the season off to a proper occasion at least and realize from the off where you are.

Well said N.Y.C.W , I too would love to play United on the first game as its the only saturday game i can get too as my season starts the following week haha , but if someone was to give me a side other than Villa and Albion who id want to the double over its Blackburn , we owe these lot 1 bigtime !! beat them once since 91 , shocking record that needs to be addressed , luckily this crop have more experience now and have big success against top sides so i guess there will be a feeling in the camp that they fear no one and thats a fab asset to have !!!! :-)
ODDJOB79
Indeed Oddy. Our record against them is strangely dire hence most likely one of those fixtures I can never look forward to. Opening day at home to United could prove win-win unless you get beat 5-0. You lose to the champions its not the end of the world, a point is always a good point, to beat them your season is off to a flier- look at Blackpool last year. Good job they had that first half of a season to enjoy eh. Well- I am looking well beyond any thoughts of relegation. I think Morgan is going to back the manager with significant funds afterall this summer and he will not stand for us bobbing around the bottom three for months.

I can see things going very wrong at Blackburn next season. Steve Kean is the luckiest manager in Prem history. Owners that know absolutely nothing about football turn up, sack a manager that would have kept West Ham up last season, in my opinion, and install this jammy git.Things just don't seem to be right there.
