Wolves to move for Konchesky?

Wolves to move for Konchesky?

Our Mick certainly seems to have a few irons in the fire.

As well as being linked with a move for Chelsea left back Ryan Bertrand, Mick McCarthy ha been alerted to the possibility of a move for Liverpool's Paul Konchesky.

30-year-old Konchesky was a solid enough left back whilst with Fulham, but his move to Liverpool was about as successful as the man who took him there (Roy Hodgson in case you blinked and missed his time at Anfield).

The Mail reported that he wants to move to Portsmouth on a season-long loan, but surely a move to a Premier League club would turn his head?

Vital Wolves Comment: My guess would be that our first choice is Ryan Bertrand with Paul Konchesky as back-up.

Problem is do you hope Konchesky doesn't agree a deal and wait on Bertrand and possibly miss out on both? Or if Konchesky is available, sign him while we have the chance and possibly miss out on our first choice target?

The reports of the loan move of Bertrand to WW suggest that Chelsea want him to come to Wolves, which, if true, reflects well on MM and the atmosphere at Molineux.

watched Bertrand last night. He looked good on the ball and quick, but he plays really high up the pitch and gets caught out defensively. Apparently he was converted from a left winger and to me he looked like he still wanted to play on the wing. Unless that's the way Stuart Pearce told him to play last night. Henri Lansbury looks an excellent young player aswell. Sign him up on loan for the year Mick!!

Not overly keen on Konchesy , hes quick but hes as clumsy as neil collins lol , Bertrand would be good but i want someone permanent not a young kid who might have a fab season and end up costing us 8 million instead of 2 ! , too many rumours and no signings which is unlike Wolves as we usually do business quick , i just want 1 signing to happen so i know what kind of players we are in for !!!!

Well- I guess our best bet is to listen to the Chelsea fans who posted- theyd know best although not sure how much they have seen of the player themselves. Does reflect well on the club if Chelsea have actually approached - shows the were happy with the way Mancienne was treated at the club. Not a bad club to have a good working relationship with. If Mick is a fan of Konchesky he will have put some money on the table. We must have numerous bids in by this point but beginning to feel that transfer frustration sneaking in. It has been a month now so why we have not seen O'Hara holding up the shirt is beyond me. It suggests the second signing may well be a bigger signing than O'Hara and would make sense if it is a second coming from Tottenham. Otherwise, what is the point in announcing the two at the same time- let's hope it is a signing they expect to have some real impact otherwise this delay is making little sense.

The only thing with O hara is he is our player until the 1st July so there is no rush so to speak , i just wish it was done and dusted and we can concentrate on new defenders !!

I am hoping that little will come out of these rumours about past-their-peak misfits and rejects of big and not-so-big clubs; nothing is even better, that all this talk is meant to serve two purposes: to keep the fans satisfied that ,yes, we are looking at possible signings, and, more importantly, to divert attention from the real targets, lest bigger clubs come in and outbid us from the off.

O'Hara to sign in 24 hoours woop woop , bout tim haha , now im a happy lad , 2 weeks to sort defensive signings now MM :-)

Surely, the Ms are capable of carrying out simultaneous negotiations for several players rather than conducting them end-on? I hope so and that behind the scenes we are making progress with our attempts to secure the services of Johnson and Mills. I am unsure about Konchesky and Bertrand at LB: I've read contradictory reports on both of them. Is the former good enough (though better than George and Wardy) and is the latter merely a more upmarket version of Ward (an attacker converted to a defender)?

Konchesky not sure about?think I'd rather keep the love child there or big George,we need quality this year not other peoples rejects!,no rush lets take our time and make sure this year.

Hm, people on Vital Fulham dont seem to rate him high..... We will see. If the rumours are true, then he is just one of many possible transfers to us, so lets wait. He might come, he might not come here.... First I want to see O┬┤Hara finally signed, then some very good defender.
