Second Wolves bid for Mills rejected

Wolves have had a second offer for Reading defender Matt Mills turned down.

SkySports.com believe our offer was for around £3million, while Reading want an addition £1million.

Considering Jez Moxey's comments yesterday (Wolves get impatient) I would imagine this will now end our interest in the 24-year-old and Mick McCarthy will have to look elsewhere in our attempts to strengthen the defence for next season.

Our first choice target appears to continue to be Birmingham's Roger Johnson, that transfer appears to have also hit deadlock though, with ourselves simply not willing to match Birmingham's valuation of £10million.

Thats the problem with the world and their dog knowing we are desperate to get defenders in... supply & demand.... guess we'll just have to wait and see. Anyone know if Mills even wants to leave ? With Birmingham and West Ham strong candidates to come straight back up it would seem a risk trying to get into the prem with Reading... just a thought/

Im p!ssed off hes our number 1 target if im honest

Johnny Evans is the target now , id be happy with that but again it comes down to wages , champions league winner , prem winner etc hes got to be earning a fair bit !
ODDJOB79
Johny Evans :S ? I hope not.... I remember that 2 years ago young Weiss made a fool from him in WC2010 qualification.

Thats 1 game lol , you dont play 80 plus games for United if ur rubbish ! Has Weiss got a champions league or premier league winners medal hahaha ? , he is a million miles better than anything we have !
ODDJOB79
Weiss is a winger by the way and Evans is a centre half so he must have been playing out of position ????
ODDJOB79
According to Wolves no second offer has been made, just 'press talk' again.

They wrote this on Vital Norwich about us and Johny Evans, citation : "Wolves....... But (and this gives me hope) they are apparently looking at Man Utd's Jonny Evans, presumably to replace Michael Mancienne. I hope they get him. Grant Holt will relish going up against such a player who has looked anything but a United player when he has stepped in for Vidic or Ferdinand. The purchase of Phil Jones suggests Fergie may be willing to move Evans on - fingers crossed..." -------- Are you sure Johny Evans could be the knight in shining armor in our defence ? I am not....
