Bertrand deal off, Wallace deal on?

Wolves have shifted focus from Chelsea left-back Ryan Bertrand to Hearts left-back Lee Wallace.

With Chelsea demanding £500,000 to take Bertrand on a season long-loan, we have ended our interested in him.

With Liverpool left-back Paul Konchesky`s wage demands too high, McCarthy has been forced to spread the search further and now looks set to make a move for 23-year-old Lee Wallace.

Wallace has five caps for Scotland and only has a year left on his contract at Hearts. That means he could be available on the cheap with the Scottish club wanting to cash in to prevent him leaving for nothing.

Vital Wolves Comment: £500k for a loan player would seem a bit excessive, perhaps Chelsea need the cash??

I hear we're tracking Liam Ridgewell and he sounds better than Wallace. Get the chequebook out Morgan. Johnson for 8 mill?

I agree, looks worryingly like we are again going to plug the premiership holes with unproven lower division players. If that route worked, we wouldnt be looking in the first place.

Ridgewell ? PLEASE NOOOOOOOOO hes bloody awful , Never seen Wallace play so cant comment and we have said no to paying a 500k loan fee for Bertrand , if thats true its pathetic , hot property under 21 left back and we say no , great stuff lol !

Yea,right!Chelsea needs the cash but only for Roman's dinner!

chelsea don't need the money but i think you could get him or van anholt depending upon villas boas's liking. nobody is going to pay that much for them anyways.

In our local paper it says Wolves will not pay a 500k loan fee for a season long loan , personally id rather us pay 4 mill for him and have him permanently , we have a youthfull squad and he would fit in perfectly and would make the place his own !
