Rob Signs Up For More

Wolves Wales International defender Rob Edwards has signed a contract extension, keeping him at Molineux until teh summer of 2009.

One of Dave Jones last signings, and a bargain at £250,000, Rob has come on leaps and bounds since joining the club ( spectacular own goal excepted) and has become an integral part of teh side.

Now comfortable at either right back, or centreback, the 23 year old has worked hard to win over fans, sceptical at first of his lack of success at Villa, but now very much of the 'your loss, our gain' mentallity.

Speaking to the clubs official site he said :

'I've thoroughly enjoyed my two years at Wolves,' he said. 'The only thing that was missing was promotion and we have to try and put that right.

'It was at the end of last season that the old manager (Glenn Hoddle) approached me about a contract extension.

'I'm delighted to sign the new contract and I'm looking forward to working with Mick McCarthy and his staff and helping play a part in getting us up.'
