'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Make the Vital Wolves forum your home!

It really is great to see so many discussions on the Vital Wolves article comments!

But on the front page article comments we're limited to discussing the published article until the discussion evolves and it isn't really designed for that purpose..but our forums are!

In fact our forums can be designed anyway you want them to be, so pop along and make them your new home!

This site is ready to become one of the top Wolves sites around and we want you to be a part of that!

Vital Wolves is on what we believe to be, the Premier Football Fans Network in the country vitalfootball.co.uk something we are rather proud of!

With news and views, along with message boards, polls and article comments, everything you need in a fans site is right here!

You can even win prizes, just by voicing your opinion on the articles comments, having a laugh on message forums and voting on the polls.

As the Vital motto goes, we are by the fans, for the fans and we are 100% interactive!

So get involved! As well as having your say on the articles and the forums, you can also get your view published by suggesting an article or a poll!

We don`t mind what the topic is, as long as it is loosely related to Wolverhampton and isn`t libellous or offensive. We will always do our best to publish your work as long as it is suitable!

Come on guys, it really will only take 2 or 3 of us to start posting and it will snow ball!

Big Bad Wolf
At the moment we're being snowed under with threads.
Southbank60
Lost me there Southbank? Forum is still quiet? http://www.wolves.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum
akela
Akela: we've had a flurry of new threads over the course of the last few days.
Southbank60
I noticed that,too,SB.
all4divisions
...they all end up at the same, inevitable point, too.Q) What do you think of the England group? A)We need a LB & CH signed. That kind of thing. It's as though we've some collective concerns...or someut.
all4divisions
Yes the article comment threads are going nicely, but I'm talking about also using the Vital Wolves Forums, because then we can open up the discussions to whatever we like rather than being limited to the topic of the article. Punch this link into your browser http://www.wolves.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum or click the big black box below the photo.
akela
I can't see the distinction, Akela. As the recent flurry of threads indicates, the article format is flexible enough to accommodate topical discussion. Indeed, you are the master of picking out hot topics from newspaper reports and WW press releases and posting them up for comment. I am sure that's a better format than one in which everyone writes in the whimsical way I do in my articles.
Southbank60
The only thing this site has lacked over the years has been an active message board, the articles and the comments that follow are great but a message board enables more interaction between the sites users.
Wolf Man
Good point, Wolf Man.
Southbank60
Uz dont have my babes threads on the article threads either, msg board has pretty pictures
Big Bad Wolf
Also a good thread with lots of replys should stay at the top of the board instead of being 'lost' with all the others lower down and out of site.
Crete Wolf
That is another reason why we should use both the article comments on the front page and the message boards Crete Wolf, that and BBW's "babes threads"
akela
The have your say area on the articles simply wasn't designed for the debates we are having, we've out grown it. The message boards enables us to have big and longer debates and not lose them within a week when more stories have been published.
akela
It seems to me that individual threads run their course and get put to one side before they drop off the front page. Moreover, they have not inhibited anyone from writing at length, should the spirit have moved him or her. I keep forgetting about the message boards and when I do look at them, there's not much on them. But, I have just admitted that it's partly my fault so I hav e to plead guilty of negligence.
Southbank60
It's the old chicken and the egg scenario. Go and look at the forum and it's quiet so you don't post, but if no-one posts it will never get busy. Just think there is potential for both the Have Your Say sections on the articles and the message boards to get going and August seems as good a time as any to give it a kick up the arse.
Akela
Having just looked at the forum site, there's nothing on it: we are all commenting on the threads here. Akela argues that if we were to use the forum site as well, the discussion would be distinct in terms of content, length and duration. Would it? A quick survey of the threads on this site reveal differences in the first two variables, while indicating the short-lived nature of the debates. All of the threads seem to have come to a natural end, though this does not preclude the possibility that such issues as new signings, management style and financial policy will emerge again.
Southbank60
Southbank that's the point Akela is making! We need to use it to get it going and mould it into how we want it. The threads come to a natural end because they should remain on topic to the article. Message board threads can be started by anyone giving a much wider scope for discussion, giving others more reason to join in and getting a lot more variety across the website, you can't look at our quiet forum as a far comparison you have to look at other sites like Aston Villa.
Wolf Man
Over on Aston Villa or Spurs, their message board posts debates lead towards more articles being sent in by the users, which then creates even more debate on the article threads on their front pages. It's a continuous cycle to get more people involved.
Wolf Man
I argue because the website has so much more potential than we're utilising and I think now with an active front page is the time to take advantage of that. The message boards would help us do that as Wolf Man says.
akela
Ah! I see the point, which was hitherto hidden from me, presumably because I could initiate a new thread on this site. Seen in this light the forum is far more democratic and I shall access it regularly from now on, that is, if I can get my head round the process of posting a comment on it!
Southbank60
Relegation time for Wolves!.......oh and no I didn't read the article.I have only one lifetime.
Dannism
