Wolves enjoy good work out against Ipswich

Pre-season results might not matter, but surely a good string of positive results has to be a bonus?

Wolves continued that run with a 2-1 win over Ipswich.

A goal from Hunt and a penalty from Ebanks-Blake saw Wolves come from behind in front of 350 Wolves fans at Ipswich.

'It was another good workout and I thought Ipswich played well,' McCarthy told Wolves Official Website.

He continued: 'We had a good spell certainly in the second half and I was pleased with it.

'I changed the team from the other night and the substitutions made a difference in the second half.

Wolves XI according to WOW: De Vries, Foley (Stearman 75), Ward (capt) (Berra 82), Davis (Elokobi 60), Zubar (O'Hara 75), Craddock (Johnson 82), Hammill (Fletcher 71), Milijaś (Henry 71), Ebanks-Blake, Keogh (Kightly (60), Griffiths (Hunt 60).

A Wolves development squad XI beat Airbus UK 3-0 last night.

Next up for the main squad is of course the big friendly with Real Zaragoza at Molineux on Saturday.

E&S reporting that RJ is our new captain. Splendid news me thinks. Karl has been great, the local lad who took immense pride in leading out his home team onto the pitch. But this decision (a difficult one at that so fair play Mick) IMO benefits the team more. RJ is a natural leader, Karl is just mouthy. Also should the inevitable dip in form happen, Mick will not feel obliged to play him just because he cannot drop the team's captain. Personally i'd have been happy with JOH or Doyler captain, but RJ is the correct choice fo' sho'!! UTW!!
BIG TASTY
With regards the win I think it takes us to three out of four without checking? We know that results count for nothing in pre-season but I still feel disaspointed when I find out we have lost. You can't beat a winning mentality and if we finish up with another win against Zaragoza I think the players will have a bit more about them as a result. Literally.
