'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wolves news snippets

Mick McCarthy may have said that he doubts we'll make further moves in the transfer market and we may have stated over and over that Kevin Doyle is for sale, but guess what?

The old rumour mill has been ticking around regardless, so here goes:

Kevin Doyle is apparently a transfer target for Italian giants Juventus. The link, because transfer rumours such as this have to have a link is Giovanni Trappatoni.

Trappatoni is a former manager of Juventus and is Doyle's current International boss with the Republic of Ireland.

The second rumour is that we and QPR are currently trying to woo Thomas Hitzlsperger.

The German midfielder is currently a free agent after leaving West Ham following their relegation.

Big Bad Wolf
He would be mad to go to Juve ? , Yeah they are a massive Italian club but Italian football is boring and too slow , the Italian style would never suit Doyles game , And unless they come in with 18-20 million hes going knowhere , and similar to Jarvis i cant see clubs paying that sort of money , The hammer would be a good signing seems as hes free !
ODDJOB79
Thomas Hitzlsperger would be a good signing, and no matter what has been said i can see more arrivals. Doyle to Juve, come on it's the Trappatoni link, Jarvis to Arsenal no way. The money would be the stumbling block on both these! The news boys are just bored

Too true "Supersparkes", the news boys are bored. Who can blame them after the last two summers at Wolves where the transfers came in thick and fast. I still don't see anyone of note leaving. I'm actually struggling to see some of the real fringe players going either (unless its on loan). I am however convinced that there will be one or two more coming in before the window closes. The Hammer is definitely a possibility- all depends on how much money he wants. I think there could be another deal where we step in late, when the selling club hasn't found the kind of offer they were hoping for and now has to sell (or maybe loan) before they end up with a bill they can't afford. I do think there will be at least one player coming in on loan before the dust has settled.

There's still the possibility that players can come in from abroad, that we've not necessarily heard tell of.Jarvis and Doyle have been non-stories..."A bid is being prepared"...take a while, then, does it?..."A bid has been received "...is a story.

There's no more I can say regarding signings or not, as I passed this way several times before. I anxiously scour NewNow Wolves 100 times a day but, as it's not in my hands, all I can do is sweat it out. Perhaps, as I write, Moxey and his counterpart at Birmingham City are eye-balling each other to see who blinks first over the fee for Dann. Well, I can dream, can't I?

Just seen this on news net LOL http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2011/08/04/greg-halford-fires-wolves-rocket/?
supersparkes
Hahahahahahaaaaaaaa, Halford is as deluded as Audley Harrison!! Hahahahahahaa UTW!!!
BIG TASTY
LOL very true. Halford has got a long throw though, shame its about as accurate as the E&S transfer rumours!!!
supersparkes
Perfect example of why we should use the Vital Wolves Forum as well as the Have Your Say section on the articles. The Halford link should be posted on there to be discussed on the message board. I think if we spread out and use this site to its full potential we will really grow this season.
akela
Halford hahaha , he even admits in the write up that other managers cant stand him , be gone oh useless one and may you rest in the championship !
ODDJOB79
Ironic really that he Admits that he fell out with Roy Keane too. Maybe RK & MM do have something in common :) To admit that you can't be man managed proves that you are clearly incapable of adjusting to a new regime. A serious flaw in anyones character. As for "I'm as good as RJ".....LOL....dream on loser. You ain't good enough to clean his boots.
Rustmonkey
Doyle to Juve, what a joke, he would'nt dare, Italian football is not his cup of tea. The Hammer would be good to replace Henry, while Halford, maybe a bike shop would take him on a free transfer?
seanlyncha7x
Yeah,on yer bike Halford. He's not arrogant, it's just that nobody has the intelligence to understand him,and no Prem manager has the eye to see he's better than Johnson. Not arrogant,at all! He's precisely what you don't need in a dressing-room.

Seems we have one thing to thank Halford for and that was brightening a Thursday morning read of the papers. Of similar amusement is that we somehow pulled in a million pound for him. He must be squeezing the oranges, lacing the bookts, sweeping the stand after games....
