Wolves will progress says Johnson

New Wolves skipper Roger Johnson is saying all the right things as the club prepares for another season in the Premier League.

The next step on route to the opening day of the season against Blackburn is Saturday's game against Real Zaragoza.

The new captain who will wear the 14 shirt next season and he will lead the team out for the final pre-season friendly with one eye on the coming months, believing that the best is yet to come from him.

'I'm supposedly peaking now - they say defenders peak from the age of 28 to 32 - so hopefully all four of those will be in the Premier League.

'I definitely see Wolves progressing in that time. Johnson told Wolves Official Website.

He added: 'The manager has done well to keep the best players here and he's brought more in.

'I'm sure he will bring in another one or maybe two.

'Off the pitch, the stands are going up and the club is moving in the right direction so I only see better times ahead.

First line of the article, very well said Akela. He has not put a foot wrong on or off the pitch yet and from what the other players have been saying he seems to be commanding a lot of respect. I think he will prove our best signing since Kevin Doyle; as far as I am aware he does not have much of a history with injury either- that is our collective fear of course. I am pinning my hopes on his talk of one or two more maybe coming in. I keep trying to play by the clubs insistence over keeping their cards close to their chest when it comes to brining in players. As someone stated somewhere else today the only time we can raise a pint to a new player now is when he is holding up the shirt and being presented to the media. Another good result today; can't beat a winning feeling let's hope we can spill one over the history books because we have never really done well against Blackburn, especially in Premiership clashes. Just a week away now....

Also, a tilt of the cap to the site; noticed the new touches and it looks great. Right, I am off to Vital Birmingham wearing a smirk.
