Bothroyd Signs

Former Arsenal and Perugia striker Jay Bothroyd has signed a three year deal keeping him at Molineux until the summer of 2009 at least.

Speaking to the clubs official site Bothroyd laid his stall out and set his goal of becoming Wolves Number 1 forward
Jay Bothroyd is looking forward to leading the line for Wolves after signing a three-year deal this afternoon.

'Hopefully I can achieve great things here and help the club to do very well,' Jay told Wolves World.

'I have moved around a few times in my career but I feel the best in me is yet to come. I am still young (24) and I intend to work very hard and do well for Wolves.

'Having signed a three-year deal it gives me security, and I don't want to be part of a squad any more, I want to be first choice. I want to lead the line.

'There were talks with other clubs over the summer, but when I knew Wolves were in for me and they offered me the three-year contract I straight away knew I wanted to come here.

'The manager attracted me, he has achieved great things at many levels, and Wolves is obviously a big club.

'I spoke to the gaffer and he told me how he wants to take the club forward. He's brought in Gary Breen and he wants to sign a few more players to help strengthen the team.

'I also spoke to a few players who've worked with him and everyone says he's a really good manager. He's very honest, no lies, and that's what I need in my career.

'I want to score goals but I'm not going to be setting targets, I just want to settle in and do well.'

Have you heard the rumor that Chelsea is buying Freddy Adu and loaning him to your club for the 1st ½ of the season?

This and every other Football League Club hey USA. Funny how you have said exactly the same thing on virtually every club. Pathetic.
