Liverpool can get lost

Mick McCarthy isn't one to usually mix his words and he certainly hasn't following rumours linking Liverpool with a £10million move for Kevin Doyle.

It's just the latest club to be linked with Doyle this year.

During the summer it was Italian giants Juventus and Arsenal.

While some Wolves fans might have been concerned that the rumours may unsettled Doyle, instead it's just been used as banter amongst the squad.

"It didn`t put me off at all - it was funny. It was better being linked with those teams, I suppose.

"I will just get on with things. The manager and the lads have a laugh at me." Doyle told the Express & Star.

So unsurprisingly the latest rumours were also laughed off by McCarthy.

When asked directly about the latest rumours (linking Kevin Doyle with a £10million move to Liverpool), our Mick told the E&S: "I would ask a serious question as to that one. Where the hell is he going to play? They have Andy Carroll, Luis Suarez and Dirk Kuyt. That would do me, for starters.

"He`s inked in in my team every week. I`m just not having it. They might like him, of course they do.

"I`m certain a lot of them like him. But I really was sincere in the fact that I would now tell them to get lost.

Vital Wolves Comment: So just to clarify Mick is that a no for a move to Liverpool? :)

I'm sure he will stay, I think they can all see that if they stick together then good they'll bring good things to our club.

if Carroll is worth 35mil thenDoyle is atleast equal but I agree.....we need to keep him.

I think MM has successfully squashed the bid and it makes little sense from Doyle's point of view either. He might get more money but he would not have the guarantee of a place in the starting line-up.

Clive......2-0 is what you would like but be honest......you'd take a draw now???? Doyler and Fletch are equally as important to us now we are playing 4-4-2.

Good on Mick, this great start to the season, and not losing Dotle or Jarvis has given us Wolves fan something to cheer about. I've got a good feeling about our travel to Villa, and at home against QPR, dare we dream, for 4wins/4?

Mick gets a lot of negatives from a section of the Wolves fans (don't all managers) but I have to be honest and say he's the best manager we've had in my Wolves Lifetime. GTurner a close second. I appreciate a few bad results and that can all change but thats football. When you think what we were like under Hoddle (Shudders) then we have come forward amazingly. Maybe Hoddle did us a favour in the end because we had to completely rebuild a Team. Mick is the man......UP THE WOLVES
