'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Ikeme keen to extend Boro deal, Griffiths to Hibs?

Carl Ikeme is keen to extend his stay at Middlesbrough, while striker Leigh Griffiths is set to move to Hibernian.

The 25-year-old shot-stopper Boro on loan at the beginning of the season and has already featured four times in the Championship.

Middlesbrough remain undefeated with three wins from their opening four games and Ikeme seems to have found a new home on Teesside.

"I`m loving it here, and want to stay longer," Ikeme told the Gazette.

He added: "I`m getting games in a team that is playing good football and winning.

"I came here to get game time, and I`m relishing being part of the success we are having. The results so far have been a massive bonus.

21-year-old striker Leigh Griffiths is expected to join Scottish side Hibernian on loan until the end of January.

'We're hoping to sign one more. And we hope that will be Leigh Griffiths.' Hibernian manager Colin Calderwood told the Scottish press.

He concluded: 'There's a bit of paperwork to be done and everything will need to go very well to get him here by the weekend.

'He's another goalscorer and I think that's what we need.

I feel sorry for Ikeme, is he ever going to get a chance at Wolves, perhaps not. So this could turn into a permanent move, we shall see.

I also think that Ikeme has not been given a fair chance at WW. I cannot really understand why we signed de Vries either or why he should want to come to Molineux to warm the bench. And shouldn't we keep Griffiths now that SEB is injured? He can't be worse than Vokes.
