One spot left in Wolves squad

The more astute of you out there picked up on Mick McCarthy's decision to leave open one spot in the Wolves squad.

And while the transfer window closed without any movement, with Wolves refusing to get involved in the desperate scramble on transfer deadline day. That doesn't mean there will not be any new additions to the squad.

'We've still got a spare place in the squad,' said Mick to Wolves Official Website.

He of course is referring to the chance of signing up a free agent.

Unattached players such as the heavily linked James McFadden can sign for clubs outside of the transfer window.

Our Mick as predicted wouldn't be drawn on any specific targets, but as usual, if the right opportunity came along Wolves are ready to do business.

He added: 'If there's someone around that we can do something with then great.

'At the moment there isn't, but if there is a free agent available that we can do something with then yes.'

Vital Wolves Comment: Do you think James McFadden would be a good move for Wolves? Or would you prefer us make a moves for other free agents such as El-Hadji Diouf or Steed Malbranque?

Let us know what you think!

Hitzlsperger is at Wolfsburg, signed last month. I would hate to see scum like Diouf at our club.

I was delighted to when I found out that we had one space left for another addition to the squad. I believe this will greatly improve and bolster an already promising and impressive team. I was skeptical when seeing James Mcfadden linked heavily with us although he could prove to be a fantastic addition on a free. Today I found out that El Hadji Diouf's name was being thrown around. Firstly I would like to point out whatever talent he has is iradicated by the fact that he is infectious toxic waste who seem's to bring contreversy and disgrace wherever he lays his hat. Spitting on an 11 year old celtic lad simply says it all Neil Warnock had it right when he said he was "Lower than a sewer rat" Having been released from a struggling Blackburn team would surely point to how bad things must have been having a person like that in the team. It would be a sad day to have to welcome him to Wolverhampton Wanderers

Respectability shoud be the criterion for it will reflect on the club. By far the greater number of footballers, in this part of the world at least, adhere to codes of gentlemanly conduct, not out of compliance with the rules of the game, but because such is their nature as human beings. It would be hard indeed already were a player's behaviour to be put right by applying the first, but since it is all down to the second it will be found to be impossible to do so.

So,during the actual transfer window, the reason given for not pursuing interest in several players was that they were viewed as "being no better than we already have". I specifically remember that being said of Lee Wallace.I couldn't comment on whether he's a better LB than George or not,not even having heard of him before, let alone seen him play(Wallace, that is). Deference, therefore, has to be shown towards the more experienced eyes of the management/scouting staff.Bearing all that in mind, am I the only one that sees even the mere mention of the names in the article,as a complete contradiction of the avowed policy of only engaging players that are "better than we already have"?Lee Wallace("the highest rated young LB in the scotland" as the media consistently refered to him)is no beter than George...BUT this deadly trio are better than our current players?Even for the most fervent defenders of any decision taken by any of the M's there must have been some seed of doubt sown. No? Oh, ok then. It must be ok,the 3 M's said so.
