Henry hits back at Barton

Henry hits back at Barton

As you would expect Karl Henry has hit back at Joey Barton for the comments he made over the weekend.

If you haven't previously heard or read his comments, then I would recommend reading our previous article on Vital Wolves.

While it would have probably been best to let it be water off a ducks back, obviously the media are keen to get a reaction from Henry after being accused of deliberately "trying to hurt people" and being branded a "Sunday League player".

While Henry didn't discuss the comments directly, he did reveal the extent of Barton's winding-up of players during the game.

"Joey Barton was telling everyone on the pitch he is on £80,000 a week.' Henry told the Express & Star.

He added: "That is him. I think he riles a few people when he says those things and tells everybody how great he is. It is just embarrassing really. If that is what he wants to do, he can carry on.

"But that is why a lot of people dislike him as a person and maybe have a problem with him.

Vital Wolves Comment: Everyone knows that Barton is a wind-up merchant, so Henry's comments will not come as a big surprise to many, in fact many people will wonder why it seemed to have such an affect us!

I'm sure far worse used to be said on the pitch years back and everyone would still shake hands at the end of the game and have a beer afterwards.

Barton clearly has no idea about football - even claims Lee Dixon is a bad pundit. I'll be glad of the day when he finally retires

Barton was right, and it wasnt just Henry who was a pub player on Sunday... Elokobi - *****, Stearman, get rid now, Berra, WTF? Even Johnson was rubbish, Doyle was absent, Kightly couldnt keep the ball for more than 3 seconds, Jarvis - what has happenned to Jarvis, bench him if thats whats required, only Hennessey can expect a spot in the first team after THAT performance. Gotta say, I TOLD YOU SO, not enough reinforcements during the transfer, McMuppet thinks buying the weaker of the Ant & Dec show would sling us into mid-table from last gasp salvation last season. I read an article that said "Mcarthy to ring changes" I thought, Thank F&&& for that, those ********s will get crucified against Liverpool - then alas, it was simply for the non event cup game. Bet your last Kermit Dollar that Mcmuppet fields an unchanged side against pool, and the awful awful awful back was be eaten alive, Henry will hide behind Mcmuppet on the touchline and Doyle et al upfront will wonder if there is a game on at all... the writing is on the wall - it was n the wall when McMuppet decided not to recruit in the transfer. Same Old Same Old - well done in shafting us again

Admant, are you a wolves supporter. Or just someone who really isn't happy. I would love to be able to play football manager and get to the champions league in two seasons!! Get in the real world. MM has been brilliant for this club, and it is a club that is being built. No to instant success. Unless you are Chelsea or Man City. but what happens when the owners get bored?
