Five-Star performance from Wolves

Wolves took a massive knock against QPR, but came back in style against Millwall.

Yes it was only the Carling Cup and it was only against Millwall (no offence like), but as the old saying goes, you can only beat the opposition in front of you and last night we did just that, and then some.

David Edwards got the fun started after just three minutes and Adam Hammill was on the scoreboard just five minutes later.

Even George Elokobi got a goal before half time, his fourth ever goal for Wolves!

In the second half 18-year-old James Spray, was awarded with a goal after being on the pitch for three minutes, in reality it was probably Sam Vokes's goal, so the pair will probably squabble who gets the plaudits.

Adlene Guedioura finished off the night with a 30 yarder.

'We made a great start and it set it up for a good victory. It makes life a lot easier if you are 2-0 up after seven minutes and makes for a much better performance.' our Mick told Wolves Official Website.

He added: 'After Saturday we had to get that tempo back in our game and the lads responded and that was both the ones who came in and the ones who had played on Saturday.

'We all needed a response, me, the players, the fans, and we got it.

I haven't seen the goals back yet. Thought there were highlights of LC games on ITV,was expecting some last night.I'm ok when they're scored at the South Bank end but those at the North Bank are a little less clear, these days. Couldn't miss AG's though. Jaysus, what a screamer!

Having just looked at the E&S, apparently Milijas, Gued and Edwards all did enough to put them in contention for a place at Anfield...and not a mention of Hammill! I can only say, as has been the case before, I must have been at a different match. Either that or my argument as to why Hammill hasn't been playing, (as put forward on the forum last, night) may actually be true!

It will take some time to get the taste of qpr out my mouth... no confidence whatsoever in McMuppets team selection and tactics.

Well that was the E&S and we all know how reliable they are. The other reports I have read all say that Hammill had a really good game and played himself into contention.
