McFadden set to sign for Wolves

McFadden set to sign for Wolves

Wolves gaffer Mick McCarthy is keen to sign James McFadden after the striker impressed in training this week.

The Scotland international had been heavily linked with a move to Molineux for weeks, but things took a positive turn for the 28-year-old following injuries to Steven Fletcher and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.

He has been a free agent since being released from Birmingham after suffering damaged cruciate knee ligaments 13 months ago and question marks remain over this fitness, but our Mick doesn't appear to be overly concerned.

"I want to sign him now and I sincerely hope we can.' Mick McCarthy told the Express & Star.

He added: "He had a knee injury but he`s recovered from that and he looks fine.

"He`s been training this week and he`s a talented lad who is a good character and he`s fitted in really well.

"He`s enjoyed it, we`ve enjoyed having him and he`ll be a great addition to our squad."

Vital Wolves Comment: He's probably a gamble worth taking if the contract is written correctly, every signing of course is a gamble, but someone with an injury record is always deemed as a bigger risk.

Well i think that we are pretty much agreed on here that he would be a good signing. It might be a few weeks before he is ready to play, but we definately need another striker! Sorry Sam Vokes, your just not up to the job!!

I don't know if we mentioned the side-ways comment (aimed at Dann) during the press conference, when RJ signed. "We got the one we wanted", is what MM said. It seemed quite clear that by "the one", he meant the Blues CH we wanted. He just can't help himself at times.
