McCarthy Continues Player Hunt

A report on Skysports suggests that Mick McCarthy is continuing to hunt young stars, tabling a bid for Southampton's 20 year old striker Dexter Blackstock.

Blackstock, who signed for Southampton in May 2003 has represented Englansd at U18 level is believed to have moved down the pecking order at St Mary's since the arrival of Bradley Wright-Phillips.

But Southampton are showing no signs of being willing to sell a player who has scored consistently for them at U19 and reserve level, turning down bids from QPR, Crystal Palace and Sheffield Wednesday, as well as Wolves.

Quick, and powerful, Blackstock is not without his admirers, evident from the club's chasing him.

But whether or not Carl Cort's decision to stay at Molineux will bring Wolves patr in teh chase to a close is as yet to be seen
