'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Edwards is confident

It's always amazing how one performance can change everyone's perception.

Going into the game against Wigan, Wolves simply had to win. The managers head was on the chopping block according to some and defeat would have seen us spend the international break bottom of the Premier League pile.

But fortunately we won and that pressure was avoided.

Not only was the pressure avoided, but confidence builds.

None more so than with Dave Edwards, a back injury and annoying niggles here and there have had left him frustrated.

But back-to-back starts and a goal against Wigan has raised his spirits.

'I'll always get chances in a game especially at home when we can make the most of home advantage, I probably had three or four half chances against Wigan as well as getting the goal.' Edwards told Wolves Official Website.

He added: 'It is important that everyone in the team chips in when they can and as an attacking midfielder, and with the wingers as well, it's key to help out the strikers.'

Looking ahead to the game against Everton he continued: 'I think Everton have had a few players away like we had and it would be nice to go there and be confident after our win against Wigan and back it up with another positive result.

Dave had a good game and chips in with quite a few goals as well. A lot of peoples archetypal championship player, but as honest as the day is long. If he had the quality us fans wish he had, combined with his workrate, he simply would not be at our club.
