Wolves contracts - What would you do?

A number of Mick McCarthy's squad are currently wondering where their short term future is.

While we have moved quickly to give fresh new deals to the likes of Kevin Doyle, Carl Ikeme and Stephen Ward, we haven't been so quick to deal with others who have less than two years remaining on their current deals at Molineux.

Our Mick believes that a little insecurity will make those players work harder. Pushing themselves to earn new contracts with the club.

'What you will find is that, like we did with Kevin Doyle and anybody else, is that we are pro-active and fully aware when people are coming up to their contracts,' he told Wolves Official Website.

He added: 'We will be the ones that move on that and sort it out without having to put it through the press - we are on the ball and Jez (Moxey) is a different class in that.

'I was always told a little bit of insecurity makes you work harder - and it does.

So for a bit of fun and get us all talking again following the international break, we want to know what you would do if you were in charge.

Below is the list of players who are coming to the end of their contracts.

Using the 'Have Your Say' section below the article, tell us who you would keep and who you would let go if you were the one making the decisions.

For me it all depends on what division we are in next season, as that determines the kind of player we can entice to Molineux. If we go down, then the likes of Jody Craddock and Andy Keogh would do a job in the Championship. If we stay up, I'd let them go. Same principle for all the rest (apart from the development players), Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has had long enough to make the step up and hasn't really done it. If we go down, he is a 20 goal striker so he's worth keeping, stay up and we might as well let him go.

Akela please be possitive, we will be in the Prem next season! There are some that will need to go, and i agree with your comments about SEB, unfortunately he has been unable to make the step up, shame as I like him. We could make some money for him. With regard to those going out of contract at the end of this season then I agree the development players we really don't have much sight of and that is really down to the club, Jodi has been a great servant for us, but age has caught up with hime. Andy Keogh isn't a Prem player. The ones for next season, will need to be looked at after the January window.

Gosh! If Akela's confidence in our survival is weakening, we really are in trouble. Regarding the subject of this item- the quality of our squad in relation to acquisitions and sales- it seems strange that at the precise moment that Vokes is beginning to look like a PL striker, we ship him out on loan!

My confidence isn't weakening, just have to be pragmatic when discussing contracts. Players who we question week in week out in the Premier League would put us in a good position to bounce back if, the unlikely happened. Which was all I was referring too. :)
