Wolves will appeal Milijaš sending off

Unsurprisingly Wolves will appeal referee Stuart Attwell's decision to send off Nenad Milijaš in the game against Arsenal a couple of days ago.

The Serbian midfielder received a straight red card after 75 minutes for what appeared to be a fair challenge on Arsenal's Mikel Arteta.

With the game poised at 1-1 Wolves had to battle for the final 15 minutes with 10 men, a feat most teams away at Arsenal would fail to do.

Wolves of course thankfully managed to hold on to what could be a valuable point, but now of course want to get the decision overturned so that Milijaš avoids serving a suspension.

Speaking about Attwell, Wolves skipper Roger Johnson said: 'I hope the referee has a look at it and rescinds it. I feel that Ned has gone in one-footed and pushed the ball.'

After the game Mick McCarthy was left bemused by the decision in his interview with the BBC: McCarthy said: 'I can't for the life of me see why he has been sent off.

'His foot was on the floor when he made contact with the ball and I can't work out which bit of that makes it a bad tackle.

So, didn't take them long to come to their conclusion, he's out for three games. Central midfield is looking rather threadbare, then. The real shame is, I thought Milijas was improving with match time but any momentum he was building up has now been halted.Let's hope AG performs like we've been hoping he would-should he be selected, that is.

Despite the evidence, the referee's decision upheld along with the automatic term of suspension. Had it been a bigger name from a bigger club represented by an influential football aristocrat....I would pull the Club from the PL altogether, but not before leaving a 50 000 + away crowd waiting in vain for WW to show up.

An unbelievable decision: even the Arsenal bloggers thought it was a yellow card at best. Many of them felt that if anyone had to be sent off, it should have been Song. I am really sorry for Ned (and WW) as he was improving with time on the pitch. We are looking threadbare in the middle now: the choice seems to bw between Guedioura, Edwards and Forde. I've championed AG in the past but he does make mistakes.

... silly me: I forgot about Ward. MM will put him in midfield with Elokobi filling in for him at LB!

If that had only been the case once this season,SB,it would be funnier.MM did repeat that particular feat of tactical brilliance against Chelsea, of course.Nah,he wouldnt...would he?

Oh yes he could and it would be in line with his crossed fingers philosophy ... that is, third time lucky!

Total joke lads, its decisions like this by people who obviously have no grasp on the game thats killing the game. They should name the comittee that upheld the decision so we who pay their wages in effect can have our say!

22 minutes to go to kick off and the match is lost before it's begun. Having laughingly suggested that MM should move Ward up into the midfield, filling the gap with Elokobi, he has bizarrely gone and done it. Damn! I shouldn't have put the idea into his head. I am going to be watching this match through laced fingers from behind the settee.

Well, that's answered my (I thought rhetorical) question. The big hoof and hope for a flick-on...not the most sophisticated of tactics, one might argue. First half has seen very little attempt by Wolves to pass it around. It's getting increasingly difficult to believe three teams are going to be as consistently poor at playing footbal, than us. Here's hoping to better in the second half. COYW!

Writing this at half time, awful first 30 mins,we are just not up for it,unbelievable, after the Blackburn result this is a genuine 6 pointer and the reaction of the players in the first half is just unexplainable, both wingers are non existant and the midfield is just being played right through as though they are not there!!hope things improve second half?.UTW.

The match has just finished and I suppose I am happy with a point. At half time I would have been ecstatic: we were abysmal. There was no pattern, poor passing, aimless hoofs upfield and no threat up front, especially down the wings ... and there was George at LB. Fortunatley, MM realised his mistake and substituted GE for DE. That - and the half-time bollocking- had an effect and Fletcher scored a typical poacher's goal. Thereafter, we were the only team that could win the match but we lacked a cuttiing edge up front. Doyle squandered a couple of good chances and SEB persisted in getting caught offside. Naturally, Wayne kept us in the game. With the other results going against form we had to get something from this match. I'm looking forward to seeing Frimpong in the middle as he will beef it up considerably. Let's hope he can start against Chelsea: he will be needed as the Blues seek to redeem themselves after today's defeat. I'm going to stop here because A4D tells me off if I write too much and Akela calls it a thread and it's not set up as one.
