Turn up and tune in, it will be a barnstormer!

Turn up and tune in, it will be a barnstormer!

That's the message from Wolves gaffer Mick McCarthy to all those people who are undecided over the Wolves V Birmingham FA Cup third round replay.

The first match was dubbed as Birmingham dull - Wolves dull by myself on the blog, ESPN were treated to rows upon rows of empty seats at St. Andrew's and both sides made a number of changes, treating the game more like a training match than an FA Cup fixture between two local sides.

It served up nothing in the form of local passion, pride or entertainment.

"It was a stinker. It was worse than gorgonzola - more like stilton.

"Dreadful? It wasn`t as good as that.' McCarthy told The Daily Star.

ITV bosses clearly didn't watch the game and have decided to show the replay live tonight.

'Why it`s on TV, I don`t know." our Mick added.

But McCarthy has assured those willing to risk tuning into ITV tonight, or even those brave soles turning up at Molineux (cheap tickets available), that the game will be more of a spectacle this time around.

He concluded: "It will be a barnstorming cup-tie.

"Our games generally are exciting. We score and concede goals and it will be different. We will be going for it."

ITV's coverage starts at 7.30pm for the 8pm kick off.

Unfortunately as this tie is not on ESPN we lose the lovely Rebecca Lowe in favour of Adrian Chiles.............

Well, they're four points better off than us at the moment, johnwolf, but we do have them in our sights. As an ardent fan, you would be going to the match anyway but MM's puff looks like a desperate attempt to coax punters, comatose after the first encounter, through the turnstiles.

I'm a mere supporter and i'm going, too. Will record it and decide whether or not to watch, depending on what happens.I went to the LC games and they have been the highest scoring matches this season, so hopefully more of the same...well, more like the Millwall result than the Man C one, would be preferable, obviously.COYW!

A4D: are you going to write the report for this match? Your post-match comments on the match threads are long enough anyway.

Well I have my tele all set up for tonight coffee, red bull and blue smarties, I've had several early nights recently, so I should stay awake for it!! Lets hope that you are right A4D that we have a millwall display, a clean sheet would be nice as well!!!

SB: I wasn't planning to, so carry on as normal. I definitely won't see the re-run tonight, that's for sure(it would have helped if I had after the Millwall game...I thought Spray had scored, then it was taken off him as someone eles's...and now I forget whether he was re-credited with it!)If I find my comments running into 'report length' I can always post a report tomorrow night, if there's enough to say, that is!At home is definitely the box seat for initial reactions, so I look forward to yours, Sparkes and the rest.

My daughters have invited me out to dinner for my birthday, so I will surely miss the first half. (Experience however suggests I would not have missed anything at all, despite MM's promises of a barnstorming cup-tie, but I hope I and experience are wrong and MM right, for the sake of all who will be watching, Brum fans included). As soon as I am back home to turn on my pc, hopefully during the course of the second half, I will go first to the match summary and live commentary text on flashscores before searching for a decent stream of the match to check on yellow and red cards received and substitutions effected following injuries.

I watched the interview and he clearly had his tongue well embedded in his cheek.mI suspect if he's honest that this is nothing more than a run out for the fringe players. I will watch it from the comfort of my other season ticket.....the one that costs me a fortune each month and keeps the bank manager in a job. If I'm honest....the score is of no interest. I would rather concentrate on survival. Give me 3 points on Saturday and Brummies can destroy us tonight for all I care.
