Robbie Keane, class act

There are not many players around who will score two goals to completely reverse your own fortunes for the worst and yet still feel something for.

But Robbie Keane on Saturday became that player.

I don't care that he is now wearing an Aston Villa shirt or that he hasn't played for us in over ten years, I've still got a soft spot for him after he burst on to the scene and scored 30 goals in the late nineties for us and it would appear from his muted goal celebrations that the feeling is mutual.

At 31-years-old he's probably a bit too young to have gone off to America to enjoy semi-retirement alongside David Beckham at Los Angeles Galaxy and unfortunately for us he proved that on Saturday, with two goals and one of which was pretty spectacular, even if it did condemn us to defeat and force us into the drop zone.

"Can Wolves stay up? Yes, I think so. For the first 15 minutes of the game we were the better team, we kept the ball really well.

"After that, to be fair to them, they did well against us," Keane told the Express & Star.

On his decision not to celebrate the goals he added: "I caught the winner sweet and as a striker it`s always nice to score, I`ll never forget that but at the end of the day you have to be professional and do the job for the team that you are with and that`s Villa.

"I never celebrate when I score against the club out of respect."
