Transfer day frustration for Wolves?

Wolves have so far struggled to complete the business that they had hoped to do so far in this transfer window.

Wolves tend to complete their transfer business early during both the summer and winter windows, but during this month Wolves have remained frustrated.

That's because despite the additions of Emmanuel Frimpong and Eggert Jonsson, the final part of the jigsaw has so far eluded us.

"Our intentions when the window opened were to sign a player for an immediate impact, which we felt Frimpong would be, one for future development in Eggert and a star signing.' Chief executive Jez Moxey told the Express & Star.

He continued: "That has been the one to elude us despite our best efforts. We were ready to pay money for the player and consider a loan arrangement.

"But, in the end, the manager of the club would simply not let him come to us. That is where we stand."

Jez obviously wouldn't reveal the identity of the target, with the only real rumour doing the rounds involving Newcastle United with either Leon Best or Peter Lovenkrands linked with moves to Molineux.

Vital Wolves Comment: Would signing Leon Best or Peter Lovenkrands qualify as a star signing for you?

What kind of player would you consider 'a star' if they were unveiled at Molineux later today?

a) No. With players of that quality (?) better to stick by the ones we have. b) Any player that also interested the big clubs.

I for one dont understand why we are only looking to sign one major player we need a striker of quality to play a long side SF. We also need a quality CH as we leak goals for fun two clean sheets so far this season and they were both in august. If you believe JM jonnson is one for the future its not the future he should be worried about its now if we get relegated how many of these players are still going to be here. I can see SF,WH, RJ, JOH, MJ,to name five who will want to leave they are not going to play in the championship which will put the club back years.

Easy to say we have been thwarted etc....even if we go for nobody...or am I being to suspicious?

kiawolves, you know it, i know it, the majority of Wolves fans know it, yet the dimwits running the show clearly dont. How many of us squealed at the stadium devs when we'd lotto-d our way to survival last season? How many of us were called nuggetts and idiots cos we aired our views that this squad needed the funds more than anything else, if we became a premiership staple, then by all means throw money at other projects. Nope. We are all "mindless idiots", and the "experts" at the helm know better. Well, Jez Moxey, Steve Morgan and Thick Thick Mccarthy, enjoy "Knowing Better" in the championship next season.

Lads, we are only midway through the battle. Last season and the one before it was much the same at this time of year, and we survived. Who is to say we won't this time around too? Only thing is, this time around we should not be thinking about survival at all - we should be sitting pretty in mid-table. And those 'shoulds' are the management's own.
lovesW
Lovesw yes we should be.
kiawolves
should be but we arent, and why is that? the manager, plain and simple, Eggert Jonsson a player for the future? not a chance, anyone remember Jens Dove? very similar players in my eyes i,e, very poor! anyone watching the game tonight still think we can survive? i have kittens every time Berra gets the ball and he has had one of his better performances. I read on here people calling for Douigie Freedman as manager then Brendan Rogers, why would he come here? Swansea are top half, we ARE going down.

The only frustration here is with the fans as once again the management shut their eyes, ears and bank account. Our third year in the Premiership, we should be a firm mid table team by now yet here we are again staring relegation in the face, only this time it looks more certain than ever. The only deal Morgan seems interested in is the one to allow him to make more millions from developing Compton. I wonder how many of the few good players we have included get out clauses in their contracts, without them we will struggle even in the Championship.

Bassong on his way to Wolveson loan if Spurs can sign Nielson from Blackburn at least one bit of good news tonight if it happens please.
kiawolves

Too little, too late, time to now get behind the team, baton down the hatches and just pray that we are not the worst of a bunch of five!. Everyone assumes QPR will pull away with money and a new manager, does'nt always work but if they do its down to four!. Nearly always though one team collapses and spirals downwards in the second half of the season, does'nt look like its going to be Swansea or Norwich though!,well done to them, they are where we should be in our third year. Just goes to show how two young managers with tactical awareness can get the results needed to get stability in the premiership. As I said, time now to support and get behind the team, they are going to need it and its too late to make any changes now,UTW.
Crete Wolf
Crete Wolf: I agree with you in your comparison between Swansea's and Norwich's position and ours. We should be in their position now and they should be imploding, as Burnley and Blackpool did in the last two seasons. It isn't going to happen and, unless an established team loses form, we are in a dog-fight with three other teams. I am not that hopeful that QPR will still be down there with us, but a win at Loftus Road on Saturday will help to put the Henry in and help our cause. I'll be there, flying the flag for all the numpties on this site and on others, who have trouble getting to games. There's still hope... but there was not much of it around in the stands after the third goal went in on Tuesday.
