Bassong signs on, Doherty signs off

It was a case of one in and one out at Molineux last night as Sebastien Bassong joined from Spurs and Matt Doherty joined Hibernian.

Both deals are loans that will run until the end of the season.

Spurs Cameroon international defender Sebastien Bassong was according to Wolves Official Website a target throughout January and while a deal looked like it wasn't going to be reached, a deal was resurrected and concluded yesterday afternoon.

The 25-year-old has previous experience with Metz and Newcastle United before joining Spurs for £8million in 2009.

He has made 185 appearances throughout his career and could well qualify as the star signing that Chief executive Jez Moxey was referring too in the E&S.

20-year-old Wolves defender Matt Doherty is looking forward to gaining some first team experience in the Scottish Premier League.

Doherty, who is versatile defender, moved to Wolves in July 2010 and made his debut against Liverpool a couple of months ago.

'I'm excited about playing for Hibs and about working with Pat (his former manager at Bohemians) again. He has given me a chance to get some game-time and I'm looking forward to it.' Doherty told the BBC.

Sorry hit the wrong button? we all know that Mick is taking the flak! but is it really his fault? I think he gave an hint the other day when he said " I am happy to work under the budget given" in other words the club are only allowing so much for players, Mick has to tow the line, lets hope it doesn't come back and bite them!

The number of fans who stayed behind after the match to chant "YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING" speaks volumes for where we are as a club, and how little patience is left. Most of us screamed blue murder when nearly 20 mil was set aside for stadium devs, and all we brought in was RJ (who has been no better than Stears) and now, surprise surprise, as many of us predicted, we are staring relegation in the face. How can there be so much money for stadium developments, and so little for squad development... Something somewhere is seriously wrong with the way our club is being run.

Admant according to all reports all three Ms had decided the squad was good enough not just MM. But he has to take the blame he is the manager and after last nights result even are owen manager said its not good enough. We need a spark and maybe that will be JOH comeing back on sat against QPR him with and Pong is a better balance than Edwards. We have to believe we can get out of this mess and a right step forward was the signing of Bassong hopefully he and RJ will plug the defence that leaks to many goals.
