McCarthy feels bad over performances

Just like a recovering alcoholic in an AA meeting, Mick McCarthy has opened up his heart and told the Wolves fans that he does want to do better.

He doesn't feel under pressure for his job, he just wants to do better for those that support him in his role as the gaffer.

"I don`t feel bad because of the pressure. The reason I feel bad when we lose games is because of the fans who support me, the people who work at the club - all the people who give me that great support.' McCarthy told the Express & Star.

He continued: "For all of them, I don`t want this to be anything other than a Premier League club.

"That`s what I feel bad about, that it`s not going better. It`s about letting people down.

"I just feel I`d like to do better for people."

It's fair to say that our Mick has always received a mixed reception from us supporters, this very website is a great example of that.

I sometimes read the comments we get below our articles and wonder if the love of Wolverhampton Wanderers is the only thing I have in common with some of the contributors to the site.

Our views and opinions on Vital Wolves can be polar opposites at times and that appears to be the affect Mick McCarthy has on a few of us!

Thankfully on this website we debate our differences, which cannot be said on other websites!

Got something you want to get off your chest? Well this site is perfect for you!

Vital Wolves is now evolving into a top Wolves site!

Vital Wolves is on what we believe to be, the Premier Football Fans Network in the country vitalfootball.co.uk something we are rather proud of!

You can even win prizes, just by voicing your opinion on the articles comments, having a laugh on message forums and voting on the polls.

As the Vital motto goes, we are by the fans, for the fans and we are 100% interactive! So get involved! As well as having your say on the articles and the forums, you can also get your view published by suggesting an article or a poll!

We don`t mind what the topic is, as long as it is loosely related to Wolverhampton and isn`t libellous or offensive. We will always do our best to publish your work as long as it is suitable!

If he felt bad before he will feel terrible tonight. The performance today is irrelevant, the result is simply not acceptable, we just cannot lose 5-1 to them under any circumstances and if there was to be a knee jerk reaction to see Mick leave Molineux then it would be after today. I still cannot see how anyone else is expected to come in and do any better with the same squad and with the changes and disruption that causes, so I'd still stick with him until the end of the season, if we stay up, he stays, if we go down, he goes.

Not sure I agree Akela, look what happened at sunderland, new manager same bunch of players....i just wish we could play as a team, at times we had nobody in the middle of the park, I always felt nervous when they attacked and that seems to be the norm when watching Wolves against anybody at the moment, we have to make the change at the top. Thanks for everything Mick but its time to go.

agree with Sunderland, but can the same be said of QPR?

maybe not yet, but we also have to get the right man. Would you want Mark Hughes? Oniell, maybe. I would like one of the young up and coming brigade, like Rogers or Lambert but I would be deluding myself to think they would leave their respective positions to come to us, no matter how big I think we are..

I would assume you would have to look at someone who isnt currently in work, such as billy Davies, or someone with real potential from the lower leagues such as Dougiwe Freedman, but he would be more of a long term move, which if that were the thinking, maybe stick with what you have and re-evaluate in the summer regardless of what happens

Crete Wolf: Personally no, I would have stuck with him until the end of the season. If we had stayed up, like I think we would have done, then I would have been happy to go into ANOTHER Premier League season under McCarthy, if we had gone down, then I would have parted ways as that would have been the time for a fresh approach.
