'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sad, gutted & devastated

Three Wolves players have come forward and made comments regarding the sacking of Mick McCarthy.

Jody Craddock, Stephen Ward and Michael Kightly have all spoken to Wolves Official Website and it's quite clear that they are all disappointed to see Mick McCarthy leave Molinuex.

'It's just a shame it has come to this and it's a sad day when it happens.' Craddock told WOW.

Kightly said: 'The boys are all gutted.

'No one likes to see anyone lose their job and we've all got a great relationship with the gaffer.

While Ward added: 'The lads are devastated, We've been on a long run together with a lot of us here for a long time and all the squad would want to thank the gaffer for everything he has done for us.

Wolves CEO Jez Moxey has also spoken on Sky Sports News regarding McCarthy's departure and he had nothing but praise for Mick.

It was quite clear that the sacking was either done with a heavy heart, or perhaps didn't even sit well with Jez.

It's unlikely that Sky Sports News have ever witnessed an interview like it from a CEO discussing the sacking of his manager after a poor run of form. He continually thanked him, praised him and spoke extremely highly of him, telling his future employers whoever they will be, that they will be lucky to have him.

You do have to wonder what outsiders are thinking about the situation, especially if listening to that!
